Government

After researching your own country and watching other groups' presentations, what themes have you noticed about how the way a government is set up affects the lives of its citizens? Think about a government that protects the freedoms of its citizens vs. one that oppresses them, or one where people can vote and have representation vs. one in which the leaders are unaccountable to the people.

  2. Most of the time the themes were because of war. It affects the lives of the citizens because the citizens don't get the proper freedom that they should be able to get.

  4. If the government is more miltiary based then the rights of the citizens are lower but if the government is more political based the rights of the citizens are more open to change. Though in all the countries the people have a right to vote on something that effects their lives.

  11. Depending on how the government is set up, it can make the lives of the people different because for some countries everybody is equal, but for others they have poor living qualities. Some countries include there citizens in elections but some they don't get to chose at all.

Usually a country that has it's people have a say in its government has a better state for its people while a country with the people who have no say in its government usually has its people in a bad state.

  29. I have noticed that when the government oppresses the people, it usually results in a revolution of civil war, whereas when the people have freedom and the right to vote, the country usually succeeds and lasts for a while.

  30. Akeru D.- The way a countries government works directly affects the lives of its citizens. This happens because the more rights that a government protects the more people trust it, which in turn leads to people leading happier and more productive lives. This causes more political growth for a country.
