The first... iPod?

Check out this story from NPR about the first picture ever taken. Artifacts are objects crafted by humans and often include things like tools or art. My question for you today is this: What artifacts are people 100 years from now going to be writing about for us? What's going to make headlines when they find that very first _______ (iPod?) Write your response below.

  1. I think that in the future, people will not have centralized media, so they will see new inventions that they want to see, such as faster computers, or new ways of travel.

  11. I think people in the future will write about the inventions like ipods, computers, and televisions that influence their technology. Without the technology we create they cannot have the technology that they will create in the future. So, i think whatever technology is used as a steping stone to new technology will be written about.

  25. I think that in about 100 years, people will be thinking of the smart phone as a artifact, mainly because it's everyday use in this world. Also, they could look at the advancement of computers, such as the netbook, and the development of processor(s) that are now reaching well over 6ghz.

  34. I think that people might look back on the old technology that we use now and see how far they've progressed. Even now, we can see that we have flash drives that are only a few inches long and can hold several gigabites of data, when the equivalent to that 20 years ago, a floppy disk or zip drive, could only hold several megabites of data. Anyway, we'll look back on the old technology and see how far we've progressed.
